Ticino River
Da-DUM da-DUM da-DUM da-DUM da-DUM—
Th’A4 I drove th’A4 I drove tonight,
from Turin all the way straight to Milan.
The river marks the border ’cross the pair,
‘cross suns and moons and long before mankind.
Ticino River twice I’ve cross’d you t’night,
Milan now fades as Turin comes in sight;
you vivisect the pair at-DUM your will,
and men in turn da-vivisect your trail
with-DUM a bridge—I cross full steam tonight.

In the artist’s words:
Carla Gía is a Spanish visual artist working primarily in abstract painting. Her work explores the tension between opposing forces: silence and intensity, fragility and strength, destruction and rebirth.
Rooted in intuition rather than predetermined composition, her process unfolds through gesture, texture, and layered material, allowing the painting to emerge as a record of inner movement. Working predominantly in black and white, Gia reduces the visual language to its essential elements in order to emphasize contrast, depth, and emotional intensity.
At the center of her practice lies the concept of Balance of Duality: the belief that transformation does not arise from eliminating opposites, but from allowing them to coexist.
Each canvas becomes a space of confrontation and reflection; an open field where the viewer is invited to encounter their own tensions, questions, and contradictions.
