Art by Warren McCombs
Scrap, 99¢, Strewn, and Crooked
The pieces documented here are two or three-dimensional and employ a variety of found objects and repurposed material. I’m interested in exploring issues surrounding consumerism, waste, the neglect of spaces, and the discarding of objects. For instance, the vehicles in Scrap were constructed out of rusted cookie sheets.
In the artist’s words:

These are all wonderful!
I think the artist who created these had a lot of fun doing it. More fun than I had viewing them.
I had plenty of fun viewing these pieces, and I found them evocative, the message layered and nuanced. Great work.
